- Gethsemane -
They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus
said to His disciples,
"Sit here, while I pray."
Jesus took Peter, James and John with Him, and
He began to be deeply distressed and troubled.
"My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow anto the point of death," He said to them.
'Stay here and keep watch'
But, as you know, the disciples kept falling
asleep. They could
not keep watch for
even one hour.
Almighty God,
to you all hearts are open, all desires known and from whom no secrets are hid, cleanse the thoughts
of our hearts by the inspiration of your
Holy Spirit, through
Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
